Employee Share Offer Plan (ESOP)
If you have participated in the ESOP, you must
call the Trustee on 1300 303 199 within
two (2) months of leaving Telstra to arrange repayment of the interest
free loan if you wish to purchase the shares.
Failure to contact the ESOP trustee will mean that your shares are
sold. You will then receive any proceeds from the sale less the
outstanding loan amount and any sale costs (eg brokers fees and
stamp duty).
On leaving Telstra, you should investigate the
wide range of services Telstra Super offers as well as the information
available on Telstra Super’s website. It’s free for
all Telstra Super members and won’t cost you any points to
use the services!
Get the right advice!
One of the most stressful factors when facing retrenchment is the
need to make decisions about your finances. You may be eligible
for a number of payments and what you do with these funds could
impact considerably on your tax position, eligibility for Centrelink
benefits and future financial position. You’re also likely
to have some questions in mind about debt management and the income
you’ll live on, as you seek new employment or start up a business.
We strongly encourage you to seek free* financial planning advice
from Telstra Super Financial Planning before making any decisions.
