Personal Insights - Feedback From Former Colleagues

Michelle – ex TCM

The support from Hudson has been terrific and has assisted in helping me adapt to a whole new life, the choice of what is on offer and the empathy and expertise of the staff in the unit was terrific. You should be proud to be associated with such a professional bunch of wonderful people who really do make a difference.

Wayne – ex TCM

I did find the resume writing and interview techniques valuable.
It had been a while since having to apply for jobs outside of the organisation and therefore the tips were important in getting to first base in the selection process.

Suzie – ex Wholesale

It was good to have an experienced consultant [for] one to one discussions to help keep me focussed on my future and the value I have outside of Telstra and through those highs and inevitable lows that go with the rollercoaster associated with such a significant life transition. Many thanks to my consultant. I also really enjoyed the “nice to have” modules relating to Image and Health which for me were a real confidence booster as my personal perception was pretty low on exiting the Big-T.

David – ex TBG

I eventually decided not to pursue another career but instead decided to take retirement reasonably seriously. I now do various voluntary jobs and play golf and swim. Thanks for helping me make my life decision.

Alan – ex HR

I would recommend the service. Although it is up to individuals to manage their transition it is very helpful to have someone who is interested in your success and have a sounding board for issues and concerns while you work through an extremely challenging personal situation. [I appreciated] the opportunity to identify what you enjoy about work and what you want to avoid in future to enable you to hone down the type of role you are most likely to be successful at.

Greg – ex TTIP

Overall, I think the program is excellent. Most people looking for a new job, (especially Telstra people and particularly long termers) are not up to date with current recruitment techniques, how to best prepare CV, what to expect from recruiters etc, ie all the things needed to improve chances in landing a job or even getting to interview in a very competitive market.

Peter – ex Finance & Administration

I would recommend the service to other Telstra staff as it provides independent assessment and advice of skills, possible future options and how to go about it. This is important because many former Telstra employees may not have considered the external job market for may years. [The service] provides a structured process to assess current situation to develop possible future career options. While there is a standard template it can be tailored for the individual.

Alan – ex TBG

[I was] Happy with the structure and content though it took me some time to fully appreciate where it was taking me. I believe some might see it as a means to fast-tracking re-employment - it is much more than that. The self assessment phases, including Myer-Briggs and career evaluation were particularly useful to me in assessing who I am, what I had achieved and my preferences moving forward.
